Hugh - Sales Director - Dexters Chelsea & Belgravia

What were you doing before Dexters and how did you join us?

I left university early and moved to London, but had no job lined up! I walked around Central London handing out CVs  and I ended up bumping into someone who worked for Dexters in a pub in Chelsea. He seemed to think I'd be a good fit for the company and referred me to the careers team. I had two interviews that week and started the following Monday.

Where did you start and where are you now?

I started in Lettings in the South Kensington office. I subsequently moved to the Chelsea office where I became the Lettings Manager. After a while of running the Lettings side, I fancied a change and moved across to the Sales team of the same office, where I am now the Sales Director.

What advice would you give to somebody looking to get into the industry?

If you're energetic, hardworking, client focused, like to have fun and don't want to be tied to your desk every day, it's a fantastic way to launch a great career and earn really well!

Have you done any qualifications with us?

Yes, I am ARLA qualified.

What’s the most exciting thing about your role?

I work in one of the most prestigious, desirable and luxurious locations in London. Advising my clients on how best to sell or buy in this area, growing my knowledge everyday and being the local expert of the area, gives you a great sense of excitement and pride.

Where is your favourite place in London and why?

The Crabtree in Fulham. It is right on the river between the Putney and Hammersmith bridges. It's the perfect spot in the summer as it has one of the best beer gardens in London!
