Alex - Office Support & Compliance Manager - Dexters Hyde Park & Bayswater

What were you doing before Dexters and how did you join us?

I was working as a part time for a pharmaceutical consultancy company and as an assistant manager at a local rugby bar. I was speaking with a small local agency who suggested it would be an interesting role, and I searched around before applying to Dexters.

Where did you start and where are you now?

I started my training in South Kensington and Marylebone as an Office Support Administrator, and am currently in Hyde Park Sales and Lettings, and Westbourne Grove Sales as an Office Manager.

What is your favourite thing about your role?

I like sorting out the marketing for our high end properties, being able to see the different styles and designs.

What advice would you give to somebody looking to get into the industry?

I would suggest asking people in the industry questions, about what they do, how they got there, and what they enjoy most.

Have you done any qualifications with us?

I have done the Business Level 2 administrative qualification. It was interesting, as I have a business studies A-level and could really see the difference.

What’s the most exciting thing about your role?

There is a lot of variety. In particular, I like sorting out the Compliance documents when we instruct a property - although it can be difficult, it's a bit like solving a puzzle.
