Tom Foreman-Browne's Notting Hill

Packed full of restaurants, bars and stylish shops along with the renowned Portobello Road Market, Notting Hill has some of the most desirable homes in the capital. Tom Foreman-Browne has worked in the prime London property market for over a decade and discusses why demand to live here remains at an all-time high.

Who are the typical residents?

We predominantly help families and corporate tenants in finding their next London home. Many of them come through our Corporate Lettings and International Relocation team who handle hundreds of enquiries every week from major international companies and organisations.

What draws buyers and tenants to this part of London?

Often regarded as one of the prettiest neighbourhoods in London with its picturesque colourful homes, buyers and tenants continue to be drawn to this area. There are a number of charming boutiques and chic brunch spots, as well as being close to both Hyde Park and Holland Park that add to the desirability here. Notting Hill has a beautiful mix of properties, often tucked away but still well connected to the rest of the capital with a range of fantastic transport links.

What advice would you give to buyers and tenants?

Be ready to act quickly when you find a property you like as demand to live in London is at an all-time high. Our customers come from all over the world creating a competitive marketplace. Our local experts will keep in regular contact with you because not everything we sell and let is available online.

What do your clients enjoy most about working with Dexters?

Our Property Management and Tenant Care service is highly rated and landlords use us because they always have a dedicated Property Manager, no more than 15 minutes away from any property in their portfolio. Dexters Prime Property Management also offer a wide range of services should your property be routinely unoccupied. They are on hand to care for your home and provide peace of mind during these periods, taking on as much management as required.

What has been your most recent success?

We were instructed on a multiple-agency contract on an immaculately refurbished three bedroom home at the prestigious Holland Park at £4,450 per week. We called through our extensive database and successfully let the property at the asking price on the day of instruction with the initial year's rent paid in advance. The landlord was thoroughly impressed with the result the team delivered.

What are the most popular streets in Notting Hill?

Hillgate Village and roads surrounding our second location on Westbourne Grove are particularly popular. The sales market is resilient in these pockets because there is always a huge demand from affluent buyers for this iconic part of London.

How can landlords maximise the appeal of their property?

At Dexters we work in partnership with over 30,000 landlords across London and our advice to them is to make sure their property stands out. Corporate tenants want the security of a well-managed property, Dexters' fully managed service is available to ensure the properties are kept in the best possible condition and will therefore maximise rental yields while making certain that all legal requirements are met.
