Chelsea in Bloom

Dexters Chelsea & Belgravia celebrates the return of London’s greatest flower show

RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2022 is officially underway. Gardeners, designers and visitors alike are flocking to The Royal Hospital Chelsea to welcome back the event’s regular spring spot after a one-off autumnal appearance during the pandemic last year.

This year’s show exhibits an impressive 13 gardens, numerous Platinum Jubilee floral tributes, and a special visit from the Queen herself. The theme is ‘British Icons’, drawing inspiration from well known UK symbols, characters and emblems. But the prestigious floral art show won’t be the only place to find London’s best blooms.

Between the 23rd and 28th of May, the streets of Chelsea will be transformed by a breathtaking series of floral displays for the annual ‘Chelsea in Bloom’. Produced by Cadogan in association with the RHS, local restaurants, retailers and hotels adorn themselves with creative designs each spring in the hope of winning a coveted award. This year, proceeds from the event will be sent to The British Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal.

For its 15th anniversary, Sloane Square will once again become a pop-up bar area with a central flower display featuring a hot air balloon and the Eiffel Tower. Elsewhere, over 90 venues will be covered with flowers! During last year's event, The Cadogan, A Belmond Hotel, scooped up first prize and this year’s presentation is set to be just as spectacular. Created by florist Simon Lycett, the design pays tribute to the glorious gardens of Britain with a red, white and blue colour palette made up of flowers, foliage and plants sourced from across the country.

Other highlights include Ralph Lauren, who have decorated their storefront with heaps of wicker baskets and bouquets as well as Rag & Bone who've chosen an Alice in Wonderland themed installation with a floral Mad Hatter and green shrubbery encasing their entrance.

If you’re strolling around the area and find yourself dreaming of owning a home close to the King’s Road, make sure to check out our local office on Sloane Avenue. In theme with The Platinum Jubilee and the Chelsea Flower Show, Dexters Chelsea & Belgravia will be easily recognisable thanks to the two pillars of white flowers that frame its doors. We'd love to see you and celebrate this fantastic time of year!
