Zero Impact

Living in harmony with nature

The Zero in Raynes Park is a new residential development that offers 35 apartments that blend beauty and design with sustainable living. The light filled open plan apartments have triple glazed windows approved to a Passivehaus specification, sustainable timber effect flooring and smart technology that helps optimise buyers’ energy consumption.

At The Zero, every detail has been meticulously designed to make the most of the living space. All the windows open inwards to allow for easy cleaning and the door entry system has been designed to ring your phone so that when visitors arrive you can open the door with the touch of a button, wherever you may be.

As well as being comfortable and stylish, The Zero also offers a home that benefits the planet and significantly reduces energy bills. The building’s solar panels can save residents as much as £6,500 a year and this isn’t just a summer benefit. During the winter, super-green wind farm energy is stored in The Zero’s Tesla Powerwalls and can be used during peak times to reduce costs by around 40%.

A big step towards sustainability is the end of fossil fuels. The Zero’s fully electric building can come off grid during certain times to make it entirely self sufficient. There are three electric carports on site and for those who like to cycle, secure bike stores have been installed to keep residents’ cycling equipment safe.

Technology has also been utilised to make sustainable living as seamless as possible. For those working flexibly, superfast 1GB fibre broadband provides ultra-fast connection to every Zero home. Residents can also control the heating, cooling and ventilation of each apartment through a smart technology app. The building’s exhaust air source heat pump is one of the lowest cost and energy efficient ways to heat a property. The Zero’s concrete balconies offer thermal bridging to help contain heat loss and maintain a balanced temperature throughout.

These environmentally friendly features have resulted in the development being awarded a coveted A-rated Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). Only a tiny 0.1% have met the stringent requirements to achieve such an exceptional rating. Additionally, The Zero won The Regional Large Scale Project of the Year Award at the prestigious Energy Efficient Awards 2022, beating out several other competitors.

Lee Monk, Director of Dexters New Homes says, ‘The Zero is an exceptionally special development that offers sustainable living and incredible environmental benefits with no compromise to comfort. It's a place residents will feel proud to live in and its numerous awards are an amazing achievement for any UK development.’
