The London property market
Summer is always our busiest time and this year is turning out to be no exception. Just over a month since the Government eased the restrictions on the property market and we have been seeing exceptional demand from those eager to secure their next London home.
Market update
“We are tremendously busy across all of our 70 London offices. The start of the year showed great promise with the busiest market we have seen for five years, but coming out of lockdown we’ve been even busier. The number of people looking to move through us has increased significantly, in central London we have seen treble the number of buyers registering compared to the same period last year and an incredible twelve times increase in prospective tenants registering. This means we have been arranging over 8,000 viewings a week across the capital. All this activity is securing some great results for our clients, we are currently handling 90 transactions a day, which equates to 12 every hour during the working week” says Andy Shepherd, Dexters Chief Executive.
“London’s property market is complex and very localised, like a patchwork of urban-villages, hence all Dexters offices have local expertise,” says Andy. “The internet is a useful tool for us to communicate with customers but our local knowledge and 'feet on the ground' is what our customers really value in times like these.”
“A recurring theme from both buyers and tenants is the need for more interior space for home working; outside space, whether a balcony, roof terrace or garden and a more convenient location, whether for work, leisure or family reasons. To make viewing property more convenient we now offer a video tour for the initial viewing which is being well received for its time saving and practicality.”
