Prime North London

Why choose to live in North London?

Home to vibrant towns, picturesque high streets and green open spaces, it’s easy to see why north London is highly sought after. With over 11 years of experience, Zahra shares her insights into why buyers and tenants are flocking to the area.

What’s the market like at the moment?

Demand to live here remains incredibly high and the local market is flourishing. We are seeing a wide range of buyers and tenants, from families and working professionals to investors. Dexters has over 200,000 applicants currently registered with us who are looking for their next home in the capital. There aren’t any signs of this slowing down, so now is a great time to put your property on the market, if you are thinking of selling or letting.

The appetite for prime property remains strong in north London, where some of the city’s most prestigious homes are located. The area has a reputation for attracting high-net- worth individuals due to the luxurious properties on large plots which offer space and privacy. Dexters’ north London network continues to go from strength to strength, with over 10 offices in all the key locations.

Who are your typical buyers and tenants?

North London has a variety of property styles and areas to suit an array of buyers and tenants. Affluent neighbourhoods such as Highgate and St John’s Wood appeal to families thanks to the spacious homes and outstanding local schools, while Camden and Islington attract young professionals looking for a lively atmosphere and thriving cultural venues.

Our clients in West Hampstead love the community feel, independent shops and local farmers’ markets, while excellent transport links into central London draw a large number of corporate tenants. Many of them come through our Corporate Services team, who are seeing unprecedented demand and are receiving over 200 enquiries each week from embassies and major corporations looking to relocate their employees to London.

How can landlords and sellers maximise the appeal of their property?

Presentation is key. Our advice to clients is that properties need to be well cared for to attract the best tenants and buyers at the best price. Our in-house Design & Refurbishment team specialises in preparing properties for the market, offering services that range from staging a property to completing renovations. They have extensive knowledge and an excellent track record of increasing rental yields.

What do your clients enjoy most about working with Dexters?

We are the local experts and have in-depth market knowledge. Our clients appreciate our professional approach and we take pride in giving exceptional customer service, always going the extra mile to deliver a first-class experience. But don’t just take our word for it, we have received over 75,000 Google reviews with an average rating of 4.9 out of 5 stars. Our Property Management service also comes highly rated and landlords choose us because they have a dedicated property manager who is never more than 15 minutes away from a property in their portfolio.

What are some of your favourite roads in the area?

In the heart of West Hampstead, tree-lined streets such as Crediton Hill and Honeybourne Road are a couple of my favourites; they offer large homes close to the Thameslink and Underground stations so are highly desirable. I also love the unique “Greek” streets, such as Achilles and Ulysses Road, which have charming terraces set beside Fortune Green Park which is a hotspot for families.

Another favourite is Compayne Gardens, one of the most sought after roads in South Hampstead, situated within a designated conservation area of attractive red-brick Victorian and Edwardian homes. Prime roads in this part of London come at a premium. For example, Dexters achieved a record figure in NW6 for an impressive seven bedroom property in Canfield Gardens which had an asking price of £30,000 per month.
