The area is made up of garden squares, tree lined streets of Georgian buildings and period mansion blocks. Bloomsbury is home to some of the world's finest Universities including University College London and Birkbeck College. The Brunswick shopping centre has high street brands and restaurants, whilst Lamb's Conduit Street and Marchmont Street provide a village shopping experience. The British Museum is situated to the southern end of Bloomsbury, just north of Covent Garden.
